It is common knowledge that a large percentage of our short lives is invested in our workplaces. This means that there will be plenty of worldly temptations vying for our attention intended to gradually pull us away from a healthy and intimate relationship with God. These worldly temptations may include: climbing the corporate ladder at the expense of relationships; seeking career promotions for the love of money(root of all evil); relying on work as a source for approval and recognition; allowing yourself to be defined by your work(identity); or even allowing work to become a replacement for God through idolatry. Doubt Your Doubts through Faith
Unequivocally, those with faith in God must contend with doubt from time to time (Mark 9:24). What is most important is how we respond to doubts particularly when they target our salvation. Casting doubts into the believer’s mind is easily one of Satan’s most effective weapons as evidenced in Genesis 3 when Satan introduced Eve’s mind to doubt. Think about it for a minute…if Satan is able to cause us to doubt our salvation, or to create a lack of confidence in His Word, then his spiritual attacks are able to gain traction, which cause us to become more vulnerable to temptations.

Christianity is About a Personal Relationship with God
Perhaps one of the biggest stumbling blocks towards those entering into a relationship with God through Jesus are derived from religion. From my personal observations, a consistently communicated message towards this topic of discussion is, “I’m not religious, but…”. It appears that being religious is very stigmatized throughout an increasingly pluralistic western society. This is a real tragedy particularly for those living their entire lives afraid of entering into a personal relationship with God under the false impression that religion is somehow a necessary step in doing so. Firstly, I would like to apologize for the delay in posting new content. Life is far from boring. It seems that there is always something new that demands our investment of both time and energy. Clinging close to Jesus Christ through spending time in His Word, serving Him through serving others, and having an active prayer life are all critically important for the Christian’s walk of faith. When life starts to pull me from every direction, I strive to take refuge in Christ by simply coming near to Him and taking comfort that He will in turn come near to me (James 4:8). Continue reading
Practical Witnessing Advice from Paul
Recently I have been apart of a Bible Study Series centered on Colossians. Tuesday evening marked the final day of the series where we wrapped it up by studying chapter 4. Two specific verses really resonated deep within me as they relate to very practical witnessing advice from Paul. Despite having heard these verses before in the past, I have never really appreciated their depth and practical application in the context of witnessing towards others in my own life. In case you haven’t already predicted to which verses I am referring to, they are from Colossians 4:5-6 which I have posted below:
5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Nobody Deserves God’s Graciously-Given Free Gift of Salvation
Our compassionate, loving, and patient Father truly desires for everyone to repent (2 Peter 3:9). As Christians I fear that we often forget about how bountifully blessed we are as His adopted children. John Piper once said that as His creation we have literally zero rights/claims over God. He continued by reminding us that we are not only sinners, but we are also His creation making us doubly undeserving for the glorious salvation found in the Precious Gift of His Son, Jesus
