The One Thing I Hate to Do

Thank-you for writing this timely blog entry! Gotta love God’s Providence! Jesus’ crucial message of denial to self is truly the cost of discipleship. I pray and hope that more preachers would deliver sermons on such key topics within Christian Living.
Walking-out our Christian faith is all about the denial of self, and dying to ourselves daily so that Christ through His Spirit can then fully reign within us.

Insight: Church. What’s The Point?

Sadly, Christianity within the Progressive West often overlooks what it means to be a true follower of Jesus. Taking up our crosses daily by dying daily to our fleshly desires is an incredibly unpopular message, yet it is practically the whole point of the Gospel Message! We need to crucify the sins of the flesh in order that Christ may reign supreme in every fiber of our being and every sphere of our lives! However, in Western Society we typically find ourselves doing one of the two extremes: placing excessive focus on building up one another as a Church Body, or decisively disconnecting ourselves from the Church Body because of its alleged hypocrisy. Every true Christian must diligently seek to uphold this delicate balance of being equipped and being missional with the power of the Holy Spirit, otherwise they will become lukewarm and/or self-righteous hypocrites themselves. Exclusive focus to either one of these ways of Christian living is extremely dangerous and it must be avoided at all costs! By seeking to maintain this balance through the indwelling Holy Spirit, our impact as Christians is able to be optimized and, most importantly, our Awesome God is also being glorified!

Perspective: “Church, Just Because I Wrestle with Depression Does Not Mean I Am Being Chastised by God for Sin”

Sadly, there are numerous misconceptions surrounding Christians who wrestle with various forms of mental illness. In my humble opinion, the Church(brothers and sisters in Christ) needs to be better educated on issues related to mental illness. This is so that we are better equipped on how to minister to the needs of believers who have some form of mental illness.


Mental illness is stigmatized enough in our current cultural landscape; the last thing believers need is more ignorance from their Church Family. The Church should be a warm and welcoming place of refuge for the broken where God’s Holy Spirit may fulfill its restorative work through spiritual healing as well as sometimes physical healing.

Church, please accept and love those who struggle with mental illness just as they are, precisely how God has done for you by and through His abundant mercy and grace when you first believed and became saved!

Church, please do not succumb to the false messages and misinformation being broadcasted within the media because all that it seeks to do is further stigmatize those who struggle with mental illness, particularly those who are Christian.

Heavenly Father,

I pray that those within the church who have been blinded by ignorance from these said cultural misconceptions may have their eyes opened to see the truth on these matters. May the God of comfort and peace be with you all!

In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.

I deeply value and commend everyone’s patience with regards to awaiting for post 3 of 3 with this recent series I have created. Rest assured that I haven’t forgotten that a third post still needs to be crafted in order to conclude this series…as with all trilogies 😉

One of the reasons why I have taken so long to write this concluding entry is due to, simply put, the busyness of life. Lots of significant changes have been happening all around me, particularly on a spiritual development level. Lately, the good Lord has opened an abundance of doors of opportunity for witnessing and disciple-making! Praise and glory be to Him alone! While this is phenomenal in so many ways, it has also meant for very full schedules during my weeks, especially as of lately

Fortunately however, the Holy Spirit has been strongly reminding me of the importance of spending time with family and close friends by intentionally setting this precious time aside. Living this balanced life while maximally serving God has traditionally been a challenge for me, but God is amazingly powerful and faithful Who is capable of the impossible! He has been working mightly through His Holy Spirit helping me to redeem time.

I would like to extend a big heartfelt thank-you to the patience and support from my readers! While I can’t give a specific time-frame, you can expect new content very soon so please stay tuned and also subscribe so that you’ll be informed immediately via email!

As with anything worth having, nearness to God is costly. Many claim to want a relationship with God, but have no desire to make any sort of sacrifice to achieve it. What about me? Am I willing to be “raised on a cross” in order to gain a closeness to the Lord that could not be attained otherwise?

More often than not, the conversation in my head goes something like this:

“Does it have to be that cross? Why can’t I have his cross over there? It looks a bit smaller than mine…”
