Like with mostly anything, when we as Christians view something as an ultimate, we risk committing the sin of idolatry. As Christians we must ensure that we do not allow anything to obstruct our relationship with God. Most people believe that money in and of itself is evil, but rather it is “…the love of money” which is the real root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). The Lord knows that we require money to live. It is when we relentlessly pursue and desire the accumulation of more and more money, regardless of the costs involved, that we run into problems. Intentional Listening
Firstly, I would like to apologize for the delay in posting new content. Life is far from boring. It seems that there is always something new that demands our investment of both time and energy. Clinging close to Jesus Christ through spending time in His Word, serving Him through serving others, and having an active prayer life are all critically important for the Christian’s walk of faith. When life starts to pull me from every direction, I strive to take refuge in Christ by simply coming near to Him and taking comfort that He will in turn come near to me (James 4:8). Continue reading
Practical Witnessing Advice from Paul
Recently I have been apart of a Bible Study Series centered on Colossians. Tuesday evening marked the final day of the series where we wrapped it up by studying chapter 4. Two specific verses really resonated deep within me as they relate to very practical witnessing advice from Paul. Despite having heard these verses before in the past, I have never really appreciated their depth and practical application in the context of witnessing towards others in my own life. In case you haven’t already predicted to which verses I am referring to, they are from Colossians 4:5-6 which I have posted below:
5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
